What is Three Trees?
On Sunday, December 16, we will have our annual Three Trees event at The Heights. That night will be our chance to reach out to our community by blessing 300 families and 1,000 children with gifts and food for Christmas. Each child that comes will receive a new toy and gift card to Payless Shoes, and each family will receive a Wal-Mart or Target gift card to help with food for Christmas dinner. From 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. our guests will participate in a Family Christmas party hosted by our Heights Bible Fellowship classes and a Celebration Service in the Worship Center led by our Heights Worship Team.
History of Three Trees
Over the years, we have been able to bless thousands of families who are unable to buy toys and food for Christmas. Three Trees started 13 years ago and is based on a children’s book that was shared as part of our Pastor’s sermon series. The story traces the significance of three trees in the life of Jesus, from the manger, to a fishing boat, and ultimately the cross. The name stuck and evolved so that each tree represents a gift we are able to give each family, thanks to the generosity of The Heights.
Pick up an angel in the Atrium to find information on what to buy and then return for the gift collection. Payless Gift Cards may be purchased in the Atrium each Sunday beginning Nov. 18. Angel Distribution: Nov. 18, Nov. 25, Dec. 2, Dec. 9; Toy and Gift Collection: Nov. 25, Dec. 2, Dec. 9.
Special Drive Thru Toy Drop Off: Wednesday, Dec. 5, 5-8:30 p.m.
