Greater Europe Mission’s Explore Program (GEM)
In 2018, I was able to go on my very first 10-day mission trip to Girona, Spain. I had such an amazing time that was not only eye opening but also life changing. While still on the trip, I had a very strong feeling that I would be going back. Through a lot of prayer and guidance and God telling me, I made the choice to go back! I am serving alongside full-time missionaries in Girona, that I served with and grew to love the first time I visited. My main roles will be in will be language and culture learning, outreach, general support of a church plant, short-term team support logistics, overall care and leadership of the team, as well as discipling one-on-one.
Spain is a beautiful and diverse country, but has a strong need for the gospel. Although Roman Catholicism has been a huge part of Spain’s past, the country has been overtaken by secularism. There are also many immigrants flooding into Spain, many of whom are Muslim. Because of all of this, many people in Spain are in desperate need of the hope that comes from a relationship with God.
