Tees Valley Youth for Christ
My name is Dillon Tye and I'm 21 years old. I grew up at The Heights and graduated from Allen High School in 2016. I went to York, England the summer in between my junior and senior year of high school on a short-term mission trip. We worked in local secondary schools and partnered with a local church there as well. The Lord used that time to lay the U.K. and the people of York on my heart. Through the Holy Spirit, I was continually thinking about this place and drawn back to it. I looked into the gap year program that UK-USA Ministries and Tees Valley Youth for Christ offered, but never thought I would actually go. The Lord continued to put this place on my heart, to a point where I knew I had to come back. I have been serving the York, England since the fall of 2017 under Tees Valley Youth for Christ. My main job is being the youth worker at a local church called Christ the Light. I also serve as a teacher's assistant in a local secondary school with the hope and prayer of connecting the local church and local school. While doing both of those things, I am also the Line Manager of the York Hub for TVYFC. I oversee the other gap-year workers in the city, and lead short-term mission teams from America.
